高尚荫,汉族,浙江省嘉善县人,著名病毒学家,中国科学院学部委员,中共党员,一级教授。高尚荫教授1930年毕业于东吴大学生物学系,获理学士学位。同年赴美,进入佛罗里达州劳林斯大学学习文学,一年后获该校文学士学位。1931年转入美国耶鲁大学研究生院攻读博士研究生,1935年获该校哲学博士学位。尔后以特邀研究员的身份在英国伦敦大学研究院从事短期研究工作。旋即回国,受聘于武汉大学生物系任教,是武汉大学当时最年轻的教授,时年26岁。1945年再次赴美,于洛氏医学研究所任访问研究员,在诺贝尔奖金获得者、著名病毒学家及生物化学家斯坦利(W.M.Stanley)的实验室从事病毒学研究工作。1947年回国,直到目前,一直在武汉大学从事教学和科学研究工作。高教授历任一系列学术领导职务和社会行政职务,这些职务是中国微生物学会副理事长,病毒专业委员会主任委员;
Gao Shangyin, Han nationality, Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province, a famous virologist, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Communist Party of China, a professor. Professor Gao Shangyin graduated from Soochow University Department of Biology in 1930, received a bachelor’s degree. In the same year, he went to the United States and studied literature at Rawlins University in Florida, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in arts one year later. In 1931 transferred to the United States Yale University graduate school doctoral student, 1935 by the school phd. Later as a invited researcher at the University of London Institute for short-term research work. Immediately returned home, hired by the Department of Biology, Wuhan University, Wuhan University was the youngest professor at the time, when he was 26 years old. He went to the United States again in 1945 and was a visiting researcher at the Rockwell Institute of Medicine. He engaged in virological research at the laboratory of W. M. Stanley, a Nobel laureate, renowned virologist and biochemist. Back in 1947, until now, has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in Wuhan University. Professor Gao has held a series of academic leadership positions and social administrative positions. These positions are the vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Microbiology and the chairman of the virus professional committee.
