电影的艺术表现媒介具有真实具体直观的特征,以照相为先天技术生成条件的“运动的声画影像”是物质现实的再现,这决定了电影的叙事机制或者故事本体,以及叙事结构,应该符合在物质现实中形成的一般现实逻辑。叙事机制和叙事结构都符合一般现实逻辑的真实影像系统,和拥有神话元素但故事本体符合一般现实逻辑的神话影像系统,二者都有生生不息的生命力,它们也是当今电影的主流。那些不符合一般现实逻辑的象征影像系统和特殊文化影像系统,还有那些叙事结构不符合一般现实逻辑的真实影像系统则是边缘,它们不能承担延续电影生命力的重任
