Objective To compare the difference of selenium content between children and non-ward children in Keshan disease area of Sanmenxia City, and provide empirical data for the prevention and treatment of Keshan Disease. Methods In 2015, the Keshan disease ward of Lingbao City and Lushi County in Sanmenxia City was selected as the monitoring point. At the same time, the non-ward area of Yima and Lakeside districts were selected as the control points, and 6 to 12 years old Children hair samples, hair determination of selenium content. Samples were treated by wet digestion using hydride generation-atomic fluorescence spectrometry. Results A total of 100 samples of children were collected from Keshan disease ward in Sanmenxia city and 100 samples were sent out to non-ward children. The selenium contents of children in Keshan disease wards in Lingbao and Lushi counties were [(0.22 ± 0.07), (0.22 ± 0.03)], respectively, lower than those in Yima and Lakes District children selenium content [(0.30 ± 0.08), (0.38 soil 0.13) mg / kg]. Comparing the maximum and minimum selenium levels of children in each sampling site, children in the ward developed a relatively narrow range of selenium (0.03-0.41 mg / kg), the minimum and maximum values were lower than those in the non-ward (0.11-0.51 mg / kg ). Fifty-three percent (151/300) of children developed selenium levels <0.25 mg / kg, in a state of selenium deficiency. Conclusion The overall level of selenium nutrition in children with Keshan disease in Sanmenxia City is generally low, and selenium needs long-term adherence and diversification.
