公司巨头的崛起威胁到了竞争与商业的合法性。商界高层谈论最多的一个词恐怕就是颠覆,但如今商业最突出的一个特征并非原有秩序的推翻,而是一帮居于全球经济核心的超级明星公司地位根深蒂固。其中有些是老牌企业,比如实现了自我改造的通用电气公司。有些是新兴市场的领军者,比如抓住了全球化机遇的三星公司。而王者中的王者则是高科技领域的佼佼者们——谷歌、苹果、脸书等——它们用最基本的位与字节构建起了公司帝国。
The rise of corporate giants threatens the legitimacy of competition and commerce. Perhaps the most talked about business executive is subversive, but one of the most prominent features of the business today is not the overthrow of the original order but a deeply entrenched group of superstar companies that are at the center of the global economy. Some of these are veteran companies, such as General Electric, which has transformed itself. Some are leaders in emerging markets, such as Samsung, which seizes the opportunities of globalization. The king among the kings is a leader in high tech - Google, Apple, Facebook, etc. - which built the corporate empire with the most basic bits and bytes.
