提起西方世界介绍中国工农红军长征的著作,人们便会想到美国著名记者埃德加·斯诺于1938年出版的《西行漫记》一书。然而,西方世界第一本介绍红军长征的专著是薄萨哈特(R.A.BOSSHARDT)所著,1936年8月由伦敦哈德尔——斯托顿公司出版发行的《神灵之手》(RESTRAININGHAND)。 薄萨哈特,1897年生于瑞士。早年随父母亲移居英国,后在英国一基督教会工作。1922年10月1日,薄萨哈特来到中国,随后被派到大西南的贵州传教。1934年10月2日,已是贵州镇远教堂牧师的薄萨哈特夫妇自安顺返回镇远的途中,不期与由萧克、王震等率领的从湘赣根据地西征入黔的红六军团在旧州城外的一个小山顶上相遇,成为红军的俘虏。这位“上帝的使者”戏剧性地闯进了中国工农红军长征的队伍,并随红军戎马倥偬,辗转贵州、云南、湖
