徐悲鸿创作的两幅《愚公移山》,引用了神话典故,在当时抗日战争最为焦灼的历史背景下,把锲而不舍的精神激活,并生发出融进时代的象征意义:坚定信念抗战到底。因此,画面处理得恢弘大气,充满着壮士扼腕般的悲壮感。在绘画史上,同题画中的中国画以西方写实精神改造中国画的重要实践;油画则成为油画民族化的重要里程碑。通过这两幅同题作品,可探知绘画史的一个有趣的命题,理解该段美术史的一个视角。
Xu Beihong’s two foolish mountains, quoted by Xu Beihong, quoted myths and an allusions.
