中单5384是中国农业科学院作物所于1993年培育的中早熟玉米单交种。 中单5384出苗快、苗势壮,幼苗耐旱,叶色浓绿,叶片上冲;根系发达,茎秆坚韧,抗倒伏、抗病,绿秧成熟;株高225厘米,穗位高105厘米,果穗短粗,穗行数16行,行粒数40～45;籽粒宽大、马齿型、浅黄色,千粒重367克,出籽率87.5％。 中单5384,增产潜力大。1994年在吉林省长春市亩产592公斤,比中单2号增产26.1％;在北京市夏播亩产545公斤,比掖单52增产40.3％;在河北省张家口市亩产700公斤,比黄莫417增产31.2％,比中单2号增产30.4％;在山东省济南市夏播亩产480公斤,比掖单4号增产13.6％;在河南省郑州市夏播亩产658公斤,比对照掖单13增产
