In 1967, Ranney et al. First found an abnormal hemoglobin from a single Chinese blood in New York. The structural variation was that valine at position 113 of the beta chain was replaced by glutamic acid, and was named Hb New York. In 1971 RQ Blackwail, CS Liu and CL Wang reported that 9 unrelated familial abnormalities of Hb were found in Taiwanese, before Hb A 0 in acetate electrophoresis, which corresponded to the position of Hb K and named Hb Kaohsiung , The primary structure analysis found that the structural abnormalities also β ~ (113) Valerian → Valley, the same with Hb New York. In 1980, Saenz reported two unusual cases of Hb with the same structure as Hb New York in two unrelated families in Costa Riea, South America. In 1981, a large-scale census conducted in Jiangxi also found two unrelated families. This article is one of them.
