被列为元曲四大家之一的元代文人马致远,其杂剧与散曲皆负盛名。他创作的神仙道化剧数量最多,而且都反映着他玩世、避世、讽世和劝世的种种诉求。其作品语言的典丽精致和表现力丰富,证实了他的傲世才情;其作品主旨的空“人我是非”则真实地反映了他“崇我”、“爱我”、“唯我”而不得的苦闷心情。作者是通过角色塑造向世人表达自己“思飘飘出世离群,乐陶陶顺化存神”的价值观与处世态度。
Ma Zhiyuan, a Yuan dynasty scholar who was listed as one of the four major members of YuanQu, enjoyed a great reputation for his novels and songs. He created the most number of immortal Taoist drama, but also reflects his cynical, avoid the world, satirical and persuasion of the various demands. The elegant and expressive power of his works’ language proves his admiration for his talent; the empty theme of his works is “I am not”, which truly reflects his “worshiping me”, “love me” , “Only me ” but not the depressed mood.
