2003年11月22日至24日,由航天科技集团公司五院总体专业技术部组织,在桂林召开了中国宇航学会第六届空间热物理学术交流会,参加单位除来自航天科技集团公司以外,还包括中国科学院、清华大学、中国科技大学等有关单位,参加会议的代表约七十余名。五院刘强副院长、总体专业技术部李劲东副部长到会进行指导。会议对我国新世纪以来航天器热控制技术进行了交流,共收到论文91篇,其内容几乎涵盖了航天器热控制的所有领域,包括热设计、热分析、热试验、热控材料和部件,涉及到各种不同类型的小卫星、应用卫星和载人航天器,以及相关的预先研究项目,为了便于交流,编辑出版了论文集。论文分别在大会和专业分会场进行了交流,并开展了热烈的讨论,大家一致认为,所交流的论文不仅是以前工作的经验总结,而且对以后航天器热控制技术的发展有很好的借
