提出了一个用分层块匹配搜索方法解决用少量小范围运动估计(ME)ASIC芯片实时实现大范围ME的算法。详细说明了所提出方法的基本思想、硬件系统结构、设计要点。在设计时采用了两层结构,顶层的亚抽样率为4∶1,只需用6片STI3220即可实现P帧运动估计范围为(-128~+124)水平,(-64~+56)垂直。其研究成果可直接用于MPEG-2MP@ML视频编码器及HDTV视频编码器的设计与实时实现。
An algorithm for solving large-scale ME in real-time using a small number of small-area motion estimation (ME) ASIC chips is proposed using a hierarchical block matching search method. Described in detail the basic idea of the proposed method, hardware system structure, design points. In the design, a two-layer structure is adopted. The top sub-sampling rate is 4: 1. Only six STI3220s can be used to estimate the P-frame motion estimation range from -128 to + 124 and from -64 to +56. The research results can be directly used in the design and real-time implementation of MPEG-2MP @ ML video encoder and HDTV video encoder.
