任何一种输入(刺激)输出(反应观察)系统之试验,其精确性决定于刺激及反应观察之精确度。前庭功能试验中输出反应多采用较精密的眼震电图及计算机,故精确度较高。其输入部分现多喜采用冷热试验,以其能两耳分别测定之故。但实际上此法非生理性且不易控制;将水注入外耳道之操作不易标准化;热能传入迷路之过程受解剖差异及血流供应之影响,变异很大;又不知组织的温度,因此无法测知引起热能转移之温度差。
