1987年4月北京举办第一届中国花卉博览会,本人创作的水旱盆景《鹅池留踪》入选参展。此盆景的主要造景材料为福建黄杨和风化石,盆长80厘米,总高约65厘米。水旱盆景的布局形式,大致有水滨式、溪谷式、半岛式、江湖式等等。《鹅池留踪》试图在布局上作些突破。首先,此盆景的格局是旱地面积大而水体面积小。在这种情况下,树木栽植比较方便,地貌处理也容易得心应手,但水面处理有些难度,如将临水坡岸作成舒缓的斜坡形,狭小的水面必然局促,更谈不上与岸上的景色相映成趣了。因此,我将水面设计为一泓清池,这样便从理念上解决了问题——观者不会计较池水面积的大小。水岸边的石头局部处理成平面直坡形,别有一番韵味,但水岸线之曲折迂回却未曾忽视。盆景中的树木选用了一大一小两株福建黄杨,主树粗壮苍古,枝繁叶茂,树皮深刻皴裂,俨然历经沧桑。副树辅左其侧,无论是构图还是意境,其作用都不容忽略。福建黄杨叶极细小,在“以小喻大”的盆景艺术中,树叶与树干、枝柯的比例更接近于真实,故树木虽小,给人的印象却像是
