On the morning of October 21, 1994, at the peak of the traffic, the holy water bridge in Seoul, South Korea suddenly collapsed into the river, killing 32 people and leaving 17 disabled. This incident shocked South Korea up and down, but also to the construction industry in the world a loud alarm. Built 15 years ago, the bridge is located at the junction of Seoul City East and the expressway. It stretches across the Han River and is a perforated steel truss girder bridge with a reinforced concrete bridge deck. The total length is 1062 meters. The main pier is a reinforced concrete structure spanning 120 meters. Each pier supports 6 cantilevered trusses (3 on each side
