明末,是中国版画的一个高峰。胡正言《十竹斋笺谱》出现了“无色拱花”技法,这种技法的出现,有两方面的原因:一、明朝经济文化的繁荣为版画技法的突破创造了条件,明末文人士大夫由于社会的动荡而追寻精神的解脱与宁静,使“无色拱花”的作品拥有了一批受众。二、胡正言冰清玉洁的品性及其对版画艺术的热爱,将无色拱花推到了一个历史的高度。
