Introduction Chlorine reacts with sulphide ore to form elemental sulfur and metal chlorides, which were valued by metallurgists half a century ago. Many experiments have been conducted on industrial processes that utilize this reaction and the application of hydrometallurgical techniques to produce elemental sulfur and metals and to recycle the chlorine in the system. With the increasingly stringent environmental pollution control, for the low-grade sulfide ore or complex sulfide ore that can not be treated by conventional methods, the chlorination method has the advantages of avoiding sulfur dioxide pollution and energy consumption
