在泰国教书,读泰国的中文报刊,诚一大乐事。由于完全不懂泰语,上网、看国内电视也有诸多不易,因而看泰国的中文报纸,就成了知晓天下大小事、包括泰国大小事的主要途径。泰国有中文报纸,据考证可追溯到20世纪初的《汉境日报》。一百多年来,前前后后约有五十多家中文报纸创办、发展以及消亡。上个世纪50年代至70年代,由于当时的国际氛围,中文报纸被全部禁绝;中国改革开放后,中泰关系越来越融洽,20世纪80年代至今,又有了七八种中文报纸,都集中在曼谷。
