The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of systematic bias in the semantic study of the semantic meaning of the subject in the questionnaire. The subjects were 87 college students. They need to assess which personality traits are important if they want to perform well in a particular profession. We randomly divided subjects into three groups and then instructed each group of participants to assess the significance of each of the 121 personality traits for one of three very different professional professions. Followed by us using a series of correlation analysis of the importance score of each personality traits and its semantic preferences and values. As a result, it is found that the semantic meaning and goodness and badness of the adjectives of personality traits may cause systematic deviations from the scores of the subjects in the study of the characters’ perception. Finally, the author puts forward some suggestions on the methodological problems which are derived from the research results.
