我队于1987年1:5万区调过程中,在赫章县长冲下二叠统梁山组中首次发现叶腊石矿。兹将矿点地质特征简介如下:长冲矿点位于赫章县城南东东方向约28公里.叶腊石矿产在长冲背斜南翼西倾伏端梁山组底部粉砂岩中,距下伏上石炭统马平群顶界约5—10米。地表经探槽工程控制,沿走向长大于1000米,厚度大于2米。矿体呈似层状、透镜状,矿层底板为粘土质粉砂岩,顶板为薄一中厚层砂岩。矿石呈浅黄、浅绿色块状,腊状光泽,具滑感.叶腊石为含水的铝硅酸盐矿物,单斜晶系,化学成分Al_2[Si_4O_(10)](OH)_2,由大片粉晶级(0.02—0.06mm)粒状矿物及微鳞片组成细砂矿物假象集合体组成,具假象交代结构.
