Methods of Research The materials obtained in this paper were collected from the 1984 Summer Olympics and the material simplification and analysis were performed according to the procedures previously developed for elite hurdlers (Mann et al. 1982-1983). Materials Participants included all athletes who participated in the hurdle finals of the 1984 Summer Olympics (short and long hurdles). For ease of analysis, the study was limited to first, second and eighth place athletes in the women’s 100m hurdles final. Cinematographed all possible subjects during the Olympic track events from August 4 to August 10. The women’s 100m hurdles final is held on August 10.
