Because reading is an individual activity, it is difficult to outline what exactly happened. In order to provide teachers with reliable, research-based pedagogy, much effort has been made to analyze the cognitive processes involved in reading comprehension. Much of the psycholinguistic perspectives on reading behavior, taken from the study of mother tongues, often help to understand the process of reading second language, are sometimes necessary. Never before had a profession focused so seriously on second language reading. In the past decade, quite a few articles were published, discussing this activity from different perspectives. The purpose of this article is to: (a) outline various points of view on mother-tongue reading; (b) summarize the various knots related to second-language reading
