Tolkien’s speech to the British Academy of Social Sciences in 1936 sparked a boom in Western scholarship, reflecting the process by which British national mythology grabbed the tradition of interracial literature and modernized it into a native discourse. This speech and his “fairy tales” have defended the reason of naturalization of the ancient Danish epic Beauvoir through the intertextuality of confirming its own linguistic research.
