无刃铰刀主要用于加工一些精度要求较高的孔。它具有制造简单,造价低廉,操作方便,不要求特殊精度的机床等优点,一直为机械制造行业广泛使用。它的加工原理是对被加工孔表面进行一次冷挤压光,使其能够获得较高的表面光洁度和几何精度。无刃铰刀是在最后工序使用,所以,在进行终加工前应具备以下基本条件:1)对预制孔必须进行一次半精铰;其表面光洁度应达到▽5~▽6.2)对加工余量要严格控制,根据零件的材质和孔径决定。3)因切削力较大,刀柄要具有一定的刚性。4)零件孔与刀具的同轴度要求一致。5)更重要的一点是,铰刀齿形刃带几何形状的设计要合理,否则,会出现一些意想不到的问题和障碍。
