To the editor:Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lobectomy is now considered the standard approach in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).1 However,the major approach for thoracoscopy-assisted lobectomy is by direct visualization and does not rely solely on the use of a fiber optic thoracoscope in VATS lobectomy in China.Therefore,we conducted a comprehensive assessment of VATS lobectomy in the treatment of NSCLC to elucidate the safety and efficacy of this approach as compared with that of conventional thoracotomy.
