本研究采用主观投射测试的方法,调查研究广州亚运会志愿者对五种不同的英语口音的了解和态度。调查对象为179名在校大学生,其中119名为亚运会志愿者。调查的五种英语口音分别为英国英语、美国英语、美国黑人英语、印度英语和中国英语。研究对象在语义区分量表的四个范畴为发音人打分:地位、亲和力、一般能力和运动能力。调查结果表明,大学生志愿者对英国英语和印度英语辨认度高,对标准变体的评价显著高于非标准变体,对印度英语的评价显著低于其他变体。本调查以服务于亚运会大型国际赛事的志愿者作为被访者,调查中还将同一群体的在校大学生中非志愿者的语言态度作为调节变量进行初步比较,有利于更全面了解中国大学生在跨文化活动过程中的语言态度,其调查结果为讨论我国当前英语教学中学生跨文化意识的培养提供了较为直接的启示。
This study uses subjective projection test method to investigate the Guangzhou Asian Games volunteers on five different kinds of English accent understanding and attitude. Survey of 179 college students, of whom 119 were Asian Games volunteers. The five acronyms surveyed were British English, American English, Afro-American English, Indian English and Chinese English. Subjects rated the speaker in four categories of semantic distinction scales: status, affinity, general ability and motor ability. The survey results showed that undergraduates volunteers had a high degree of recognition of British English and Indian English, the ratings of standard variants were significantly higher than those of non-standard variants, and the ratings of Indian English were significantly lower than other variants. In this survey, volunteers serving large-scale Asian Games were interviewed. In the survey, non-volunteers ’linguistic attitudes among college students in the same group were compared as a regulatory variable to help them understand more fully Chinese students’ The linguistic attitudes in the process of cross-cultural activities provide more direct enlightenment for discussing the cultivation of cross-cultural awareness of students in current English teaching in our country.
