In this study, a model of cartilage and bone formation induced by demineralized bone matrix was used to study the effect of 50ppm fluorine in drinking water on the incorporation of 35S, 45Ca and the activities of ALP and ACP during induction. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the incorporation rates of ~ (35) S (day 7) and ~ (45) Ca (days 12-17) in the 50ppm fluoride group compared with the control group. However, ALP, ACP Activity than the control group were significantly increased. Our results demonstrate that 50 ppm fluorine has no significant effect on the synthesis of sulfated mucopolysaccharide inducing cartilage, nor on the formation of bone calcium salts. However, fluoride stimulates the activity of ALP and ACP.
