多模态英语教学即通过多种模态如图片、声音、文字、手势、表情等隐喻来呈现某一事物的概念。本文针对多模态隐喻在大学英语词汇教学中是否比单模态词汇教学模式更具有优势而展开实验。通过实验作者得出:多模态隐喻教学可以应用到大学英语教学实践中,它对于加强学生对英语词汇的记忆、理解和应用有着显著的作用。同时,访谈的结果显示,多模态隐喻词汇教学也是学生乐于接受的一种词汇教学模式,它可以激发学生学习英语词汇的兴趣,提高英语单词学习效率。
Multi-modal English teaching refers to the concept of presenting something through metaphors such as pictures, sounds, words, gestures and expressions. In this paper, multi-modal metaphor in the college English vocabulary teaching is more advantageous than single-modal vocabulary teaching mode to start the experiment. The author draws the conclusion that multimodal metaphor teaching can be applied to college English teaching practice, which plays a significant role in enhancing students’ memory, comprehension and application of English vocabulary. At the same time, the results of interviews show that multimodal metaphorical vocabulary teaching is also a kind of lexical teaching mode that students are willing to accept. It can stimulate students’ interest in learning English vocabulary and improve the efficiency of English word learning.
