《新建设》杂志是1949年9月创刊的。它的前身是《中国建设》半月刊,简称《中建》杂志(1947年春出版)。《中建》是一本综合性刊物,总社在上海,编辑出版在北平(北京)。它的宗旨是揭露国民党的反动本质,团结和教育各民主党派及全国各族广大人民群众,坚决与国民党反动派进行各种形式的斗争。《中建》是民主党派和无党派民主人士创办的,一些共产党员也参与编辑出版工作,这就引起国民党反动派的注意,终于在1949年9月被国民党反动派查封了。
“New Construction” magazine was founded in September 1949. Its predecessor is “China Construction” semi-monthly, referred to as “China Construction” magazine (Spring 1947 publication). “China Construction” is a comprehensive publication, headquartered in Shanghai, edited and published in Peking (Beijing). Its purpose is to uncover the reactionary nature of the Kuomintang, unite and educate the various democratic parties and the broad masses of people of all nationalities in the country and resolutely engage in various forms of struggle with the Kuomintang reactionaries. “China Construction” was founded by democratic parties and non-party democrats. Some communists also participated in the editing and publishing work. This caused the KMT reactionaries’ attention and was finally sealed by the Kuomintang reactionaries in September 1949.
