伟大的五四运动以彻底的不妥协的反帝反封建的姿态,深刻地影响了半殖民地半封建的中国社会,成为中国新民主主义革命的开端,同时也使辛亥革命失败后沉寂下来的中国妇女解放运动重新恢复、活跃和发展起来,开创了中国妇女解放运动的新纪元。五四运动对安徽妇女解放运动意义尤其重大,在五四运动中,安徽妇女第一次有组织地大规模地开展群众运动,显示了自身的觉悟和力量,是一次史无前例的妇女自身解放运动,因而也是安徽妇女解放运动的发端和起点。
