我国人民食用食盐的历史很悠久,早在5000年以前的仰韶文化时期就有了用海水煮盐的记载,并有“夙沙氏初煮海为盐”的历史传说.在世界各国食盐也被视为不可缺少的食物,古希腊人荷马称盐为“英雄之食”,在古罗马帝国的祭祀活动中,食盐是不可缺少的祭品,就连发给士兵的薪金也是食盐.
