The authors measured the contents of Cu, Pb · Zn, Cd, Cr and Ni in 15 important economic fish caught in the Pearl River Estuary in June 1987 and March 1988. The results showed that the contents of six heavy metals in muscle, skin, gut, gill, bone and scales were different and the contents of heavy metals in muscle were the lowest. The fish caught in estuaries and the fish muscle, There was no significant difference in the content of six heavy metals in the gills. There was no significant difference in the contents of six heavy metals in fish muscle, gut and gill (except for muscle Ni content). The content of heavy metals in the fish in the sea area is not high compared with the heavy metal contents of economic fish in some sea areas at home and abroad. The contents of heavy metals in economic fish in the Pearl River Estuary area are lower than the “Criteria for Evaluation of Marine Biofouling” and the “Standard for Human Consumption” The impact of heavy metal pollution in Pearl River Estuary on economic fishes is not obvious, and it is safe to eat from human health.
