The use of exchange reaction of organic and inorganic ligands and the metathesis of metal halide and metal carbonyl anion to synthesize heteronuclear clusters has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, easy control and high yield. This paper describes the synthesis of Fe_3 (CO) _9 (C_2H_2) _3 cluster of 11 atoms, coordination state and cluster core structure.
