我区稻纵卷叶螟自1970年以来发生普遍,为害极为严重。稻纵卷叶螟在我区一年发生4代,主要以第2、3代为害水稻。我区在稻纵卷叶螟第2代发生很轻,第3代为害特别严重的情况下,于1974年2代产卵末期及3代产卵期间在店子分场利用松毛虫赤眼蜂作放蜂试验。在长江以北初步获得对第3代的较好放蜂效果;卵寄生率98.4%,较对照区提高34.8％;幼虫数较对照区下降94.6％—97.9％;被害叶数较对照区下降92.4％—94.5%。基本上控制住第3代稻纵卷叶螟的发生和为害。
