On June 25, 1950, U.S. imperialism launched a war of aggression in North Korea. One of the most important purposes for the U.S. imperialists to launch this war is to ease the increasingly sophisticated economic crisis in the country. The monopoly capitalists in the United States pin their hopes on the war, and they regard the war as a way out of the economic crisis. After the outbreak of the Korean War, Wall Street political representatives had happily warned that the war economy would become the “normal state” for the long-term economic development of the United States. They said that this “normal state” would last five years or ten years or even two ten years. The New York Monthly Review magazine even complacently exclaimed: “American capitalism has finally found its own all-powerful panacea in establishing an always-prepared economy.”
