Through fiction depicting several survivors of the Holocaust dispersed in the United States, the novel shows the trauma of war and makes the history full of pains instantly visible and concrete. By examining the different options and outcomes of survivors in establishing cultural identity, Singh expresses his firm stance toward the establishment of Jewish identity and proposes a viable approach to getting rid of the traumatic situation of individuals and nations.
