政府建筑如何才能代表和体现出一个国家的身份呢?直到现在,这依然是一个无法解答的重大命题。正如社会学家和哲学家告诉我们的:我们像建房子一样,日复一日地塑造我们的个性,但却没有带着思考去做。而参与国家议会大厦设计的建筑师们,却正经历着一场噩梦——试图找出这个共有的、具有历史意义的“我们”可能是什么?在过去的五十年里,他们大多避开一切直接答案,而得出一些得体的抽象概念、中立的虔诚,并很清楚地表明:“我们是一个具有谨慎谦恭的会计师精神的国家”。
How can government buildings represent and reflect the identity of a nation? Up to now, this remains a major issue that can not be answered. As sociologists and philosophers have told us: Like building a house, we shape our personality day after day, but we do it without thinking. And architects involved in the design of the National Parliament buildings are experiencing a nightmare - trying to figure out what this “common” and “historic” we are may have been - most of them in the past 50 years Avoiding all direct answers leads to some decent abstract concepts, neutral piety, and makes it very clear: “We are a cautious, courteous, accountant country”.
