任何一门课程的理论或实践必定承载着某种价值、某种文化。课程本质上不是“价值中立”或“文化无涉”的纯粹知识活动,它必须要求有价值参与的生存环境。在我国,作为第二语言的英语发展突飞猛进,但英语教材充斥着西方价值观,排斥了中国的传统文化,造成中国传统文化价值的缺失,甚至有走向全盘西化的危险。我国的英语课程应当适度确立中国传统文化的地位,适度确立学生的多元文化视野。
The theory or practice of any course must bear a certain value, a culture. Courses are not, in essence, purely knowledge activities that are “value-neutral” or “culturally inclusive” and must require a living environment that is valued for participation. In our country, the development of English as a second language has progressed by leaps and bounds. However, the English teaching materials are full of Western values and exclusion of Chinese traditional culture, resulting in the loss of the value of Chinese traditional culture and even the danger of a complete westernization. Our English curriculum should appropriately establish the status of Chinese traditional culture and appropriately establish the students’ multi-cultural perspective.
