Objective: To observe the protective effect of cat ginseng polysaccharide on acute liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). Methods: The mice were randomly divided into blank group, positive control group, model control group and cat ginseng polysaccharide at low, medium and high dose. After 8 d of administration, CCl4 was intraperitoneally injected into the mice to induce acute liver injury. The level of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) ), Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels. Results: Compared with the model group, the levels of ALT, AST and MDA in the cats polysaccharide treatment group were significantly decreased, the SOD activity increased, and the dose was positively correlated. Conclusion: Ginseng polysaccharide can protect CCl4-induced acute liver injury in mice.
