教师是教育的基本要素之一。教师队伍是办学的主要力量。学校的教学和科研水平高低取决于教师队伍的结构和素质状况。远距离教育作为一种新型的教育形式,对其教师队伍有什么独特的要求?我们对此并不是从一开始就很明确的。从关于电大是否需要一支专职教师队伍问题的争论,到对电大教师队伍模式的探讨,历时十余年。现在终于可以说,关于电大教师队伍建设的整体目标和基本原则以及电大教师的素质要求,我们已形成了一些初步共识,例如:
