到了英国,除了参观各种具有悠久历史的博物馆、城堡、城镇和大学外,还可以欣赏到沿途广阔恬静的乡村景观。透过火车或汽车的车窗,时而还会发现一些由小块菜地或花园组成的绿色园地,这类用地被称为Allotment,份地或份地花园。在伯明翰大学的北面有一块规模较大的份地,距今已经有200多年的历史了。当地人根据地名称之为Edgbaston Garden。从1890年的地图上可以看出,这块园地并没有多少变化,被划分为长方形状的小地块依然如旧。如今,苍翠高大的树
Arriving in the UK, in addition to visiting a variety of historic museums, castles, towns and universities, you can admire the tranquil rural landscape along the way. Through the windows of a train or car, there are sometimes some green fields consisting of small vegetable fields or gardens called Allotments, part or part gardens.
