《刀锋上的蚂蚁》是方方的一部中篇小说。小说讲述了20世纪90年代末一个退休的德国人费舍尔与一个中国画家鲁昌南之间发生的故事。费舍尔是德国慕尼黑一名退休法官,有着小时候与父母在中国生活的经历。因为记忆中印象深刻的一幅中国油画,他来到了自己的出生地庐山,并在此邂逅了落魄画家鲁昌南。也许为了圆自己退休后做一件有意义的事的梦想,也许是鲁昌南的苦难遭遇感动震撼了他,费舍尔决定尽力帮助鲁昌南改变命运。于是来自两个不同国家,有着不同身份、不同人生经历、生活习性及不同文化背景的人之间碰撞出一段极富意味的故
Ants on the Blade’s Edge is a novella by Fang Fang. The novel tells the story of a retired German fisher in the late 1990s and a Chinese artist Lu Chang-nan. Fisher is a retired judge in Munich, Germany, having a child’s experience of living with his parents in China. Because of the impressive Chinese painting in memory, he came to Lushan, where he was born, and met Lu Mannan, a man of abjection. Perhaps in order to round her dream of making a meaningful event after retirement, it may be that his tragedy touched Lu Changnan and shocked him. Fisher decided to try his best to help Lu Changnan to change his destiny. As a result, people from two different countries, with different identities, different life experiences, different living habits and different cultural backgrounds, collide with each other in a very meaningful way
