This map was originally painted in the upper part of the east wall of the 33rd Cave of the Thousand-Buddha Cave in Baiyun Creek, Turpan, and belongs to the early Uighur period from the middle of the 9th century to the beginning of the 12th century. After the Hui people respected Buddhism, they reconstructed Buddhist temples and painted murals in the territory.
