π-Cyclopentadinyl(dicarbonyl)(phenylcarbyne)rhenium-tetrabromoborate, [π-C_5H_5(CO)_(2-)ReCC_6H_5]BBr_4 (3), at low temperature reacts with (μ-phenylthio) (μ-thiolato)hexacarbonyldiironanion, (μ-C_6H_5S) (μ-LiS)Fe_2(CO)_6 (2), to give π-cyclopentadienyl (dicarbonyl) {phenyl[(μ-phenylthio)-hexacarbonyldiiron (μ-thio)] carbene} rhenium, π-C_5H_5(CO)_2ReC(C_6H_5)(μ-S)(μ-C_6H_5S)Fe_2(CO)_6 (4).The complex 4 was identified by elemental analyses, IR, ~1H NMR and mass spectra, and finally con-firmed by its single crystal X-ray structurc determination. The results from spectroscopic experimentsand X-ray diffraction were diseussed.
