著名幼儿教育家蒙台梭利提出2~5岁是人类语言发展的敏感期。这一时期幼儿的大脑在结构和功能上都具有很强的适应和重组能力,对任何语言都具有极大的敏感性,易于受到环境影响,学习也最富有成效。进行双语教学可以培养幼儿的倾听能力,促进幼儿认知、记忆、想象等能力的协调发展,培养幼儿活泼开朗的性格,提高其与人交往的积极性。然而,处于这一时期的幼儿思维具有直观形象的特点,要让他们喜欢英语,就要从引发其内在动机入手,做到以具体形象的事物让幼儿产生兴趣,借助游戏、故事、儿歌等多种形式的活动提高他们的学习兴趣,让幼儿在玩中说,玩中学。
