用煤油代替四氯化碳具有安全,无毒,价格便宜,就地取材,效果较好等优点。具体操作:将碘的饱和水溶液20ml于分液漏斗中,加入6ml煤油,充分振荡,静置数分钟,溶液分两层,上层是煤油层,呈紫红色,下层是水层,呈淡黄色。打开分液漏斗活塞,待水层全部流完,关闭活塞。这样把水中的碘提取出来了,然后将紫红色的煤油层干蒸发皿中,在水浴上加热,待煤油全部蒸发,剩下的紫黑色固体便是碘。
