新疆已有研究资料证实,冬麦越冬保苗有赖于多方面的条件,其中最重要的是要克服低温冻害。众所周知,决定冬麦遭受冻害的是土壤表层3—5厘米深处的土壤温度;而土壤水分的含量又是土壤内部诸因素影响温度最活跃、最直接的因素。在新疆具体情况下,冬麦越冬期间,土壤水分与土壤温度究竟发生了什么样的特殊关系,据五年来大田调查与小区试验观测研究,已初步摸索出一些粗略的规律,供有关方面参考(水分测定采用常规法和红外线灯烘烤法,温度测定采用直插地温计法和遥控地温计法)。
