The real-time performance of traditional Ethernet is poor. The end-to-end execution time of a network over Ethernet based on thin Ethernet (Coax-10BASE-2) or hub (10BASE or 100BASE) depends on the size of the network load. The uncertainty of Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA / CD) systems with collision detection has become the main argument against using Ethernet as a real-time application communication solution. However, this has changed with the adoption of Ethernet converters and Ethernet converters incorporating the new features of priority. Real-time applications based on Translator Ethernet leverages this technology driven by the rapidly evolving VOIP business.
