讨论了采用增益开关技术在分布反馈半导体激光器(DFB-LD)上产生超短光脉冲的特性.理论分析表明,光脉冲特性仅与峰值反转率r有关,峰值功率随r升高而升高,脉宽随r升高而降低.数值模拟发现存在最佳偏置点使峰值功率最高而脉宽最窄,增加调制功率有助于压窄脉冲.调制频率接近于激光器谐振频率时可获得最大峰值功率,调制频率上升至一定值后出现周期加倍现象.
The characteristics of the gain switching technique for generating ultrashort optical pulses on a distributed feedback semiconductor laser (DFB-LD) are discussed. Theoretical analysis shows that the optical pulse characteristics only with the peak reverse rate r, the peak power increases with r increases, the pulse width decreases with r increases. Numerical simulations show that there is an optimum bias point that maximizes the peak power and the narrowest pulse width. Increasing the modulation power helps to narrow the pulse. When the modulation frequency is close to the resonance frequency of the laser, the maximum peak power can be obtained. After the modulation frequency rises to a certain value, the period doubling phenomenon occurs.
