在西方文化的冲击下 ,晚清沿江沿海督抚西学观念的演进呈现出了一个层次分明、逐步深化的过程。综观晚清 70年督抚西学观念的演进 ,可知 :其一 ,民族危机的刺激是督抚西学观念演进的第一动力 ,督抚西学观念演进的过程亦是其探索中华民族出路的过程 ,其爱国之意是明显的。其二 ,晚清督抚西学观念的演进 ,在客观上推进了近代中国民主化的进程。其三 ,督抚对西方文化的吸收与其对西学的认知程度成正比 ,督抚固有的文化观念 ,既提供了其接纳西学的思想基础 ,又规定了其吸收西学的限度。其四 ,晚清督抚的文化观 ,在某种意义上 ,又构成了清政府进行各项改革的思想指导。
Under the impact of Western culture, the evolution of the Western concept of governors and governors along the coast of the Qing Dynasty showed a distinct process of gradual deepening. Looking at the evolution of the concept of governor Western learning in the late 1970s, we can see that: First, the stimulation of the national crisis is the first impetus to the evolution of the concept of governor Western learning. Second, the evolution of the concept of Governor-Westerners in the late Qing dynasty promoted the process of democratization in modern China objectively. Third, governors’ absorption of western culture is directly proportional to their cognition of western learning. The inherent cultural concept of governor not only provided the ideological basis for accepting western learning, but also stipulated the limits of western learning. Fourth, the cultural outlook of Governors and Governors in the late Qing Dynasty, in a sense, constitutes the ideological guidance of the Qing government in carrying out various reforms.
