影片《普通的故事》是“女性电影”中一部有代表性的作品。摄于1978年。作为一种影片的类型,“女性电影”的特点在于从女主人公的视角表现社会和人生,深入揭示女性的心理活动,反映社会中妇女的地位和处境,展示现代妇女追求独立人格的倾向,并且大都以家庭、子女、婚姻、爱情、职业一类内容为题材。从影片《普通的故事》中,我们自然会联想到法国著名社会学家艾弗琳娜·絮雷洛夫人在新著《寻甘避苦》中,对法国人的婚姻状况的翔实分析:结婚率下降;离婚率上升;“自由结合”者增多;婚外生育激增。这样的社会现象必然会在电影中得到反映。同时,我们在《普通的故事》中也看到了西方妇女在苦恼中的追求。当然,这类影片往往缺乏对社会现象的深刻分析。《普通的故事》虽然多少触及了男女社会地位的问题,但是,我们看不到明显的社会原因,我们只能从女主人公在面对生活的选择时无所适从和犹豫不定的心境中体会出社会给她造成的苦闷。至于这部影片中反映出来的西方道德观念,我们是不能接受的。介绍这部影片的目的主要是让读者对西方“女性电影”有一个具体的概念。同时,我们以为,从抽象的意义上说,通过对女性心理的剖析表现一定的主题,恐怕也不失为电影创作的一个角度。剧本选自法国《电影前台》杂志,第224期。
